HATC Recent Work
Since 1994, HATC has established a national client base, working for over forty clients with many repeat commissions. Commissions fall broadly into four categories:
- Policy and strategy development for housing associations, the National Housing Federation, the Greater London Authority and others
- Improving operational practice (efficiency and effectiveness)
- Interim management for senior posts
- Complex project management – such as regeneration, PFI or stock transfer projects
- Training / facilitation for RSL officers at all levels from front line staff to Directors, residents and Board members.
Recent significant commissions include:

Housing space standards - researching practice and making policy recommendations to Greater London Authority on whether they should seek to set minimum space standards for new housing through their planning powers

Developing and procuring an HA sector project management Post Graduate Certificate training course that also provides a recognised professional qualification for the NHF, G-15 London HA s and others

Providing formal project management services to a local authority and housing association on an estate regeneration scheme

Developing, co-ordinating and drafting Asset Management Strategies for Subsidiaries and Group RSLs

PFI adviser to RSL; developing new model PFI agreement suitable for RSL schemes

Project management of a large national RSL’s detailed review of the Rethinking Construction agenda and proposals for further implementation (7 months)

Project management of a 700 home ERCF estate renewal project in Lambeth

Covering the Group Development Director role for a large regional RSL (18 months)

Covering the Director role of a specialist PFI and market-rent RSL (18 months)

Writing “First Steps in Partnering” for the NHF

Previously Andrew project managed and co-wrote (with Richard Broomfield) the NHF's Guide to Standards and Quality, published in 1998. HATC is due to update it in the summer of 2006.

Training
Both Andrew and Richard have been regular and frequently used trainers for the National Housing Federation and other clients for over twelve years. Training has been provided for officers and Board members, often of stock-transfer RSLs.
